News Topical, Digital Desk : Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to attend the 129th birth anniversary celebrations of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on January 23.
During his visit, the Prime Minister is expected to hoist the national flag and deliver a public address at the Netaji Stadium, where Subhas Chandra Bose had hoisted the tricolour on December 30, 1943, officials said.
The government celebrates Netaji's birth anniversary as Parakram Diwas.
The central government has been celebrating Netaji's birth anniversary as Parakram Diwas to honor his selfless service to the nation. PM Modi is also expected to lay a wreath at Netaji's statue in Marina Park.

"The Prime Minister is likely to pay floral tributes at the Martyrs' Column at Sri Vijayapuram and visit the Cellular Jail to pay homage to Veer Savarkar," the official said. He further said that the Prime Minister may also visit Campbell Bay to inspect the development projects there.
