News Topical, Digital Desk : May isn't even over yet, and the scorching heat has already made it feel like the month of Jeth. Between the sky's blazing fire and the ground's heat, city dwellers are forced to grapple with the heatwave.

The streets are deserted during the afternoon, as if life itself has ground to a halt. The weather tests us as soon as we leave our homes, forcing us to contend with the hot winds.

On Tuesday, the maximum temperature exceeded 40 degrees Celsius for the fourth consecutive day. Significantly, the mercury remained steady at 41.5 degrees Celsius for the second consecutive day, 3.5 degrees above normal. This increase isn't limited to statistics, but is also clearly impacting people's daily routines and health. The daytime heat is scorching, and the nights are proving ineffective. Even the winds blowing after dusk are creating a heatwave-like feeling.

According to meteorologist Kailash Pandey, dry winds blowing from the westerly direction at speeds of 30 to 32 kilometers per hour have worsened the situation. The humidity level has dropped by 30 percent compared to yesterday, reaching 37, reducing the moisture in the air and making the sun feel more intense. On Monday, the humidity was recorded at 67 percent.

According to meteorologists, there are no signs of relief in the next three to four days. Maximum temperatures are expected to remain between 40 and 43 degrees Celsius, while decreasing humidity will intensify the heat wave. Therefore, people are advised to avoid unnecessary afternoon exposure, drink plenty of water, and remain vigilant.
