News Topical, Digital Desk : The women's wing of the Aam Aadmi Party has filed a formal complaint with the Karnataka State Women's Commission, objecting to the teaser of Yash's Kannada film Toxic. In the complaint, the party alleged that the recently released teaser contains obscene scenes that adversely affect the social well-being of women and children and undermine Kannada cultural values.

Demand raised to cancel the teaser

The women's wing of the Aam Aadmi Party requested the Commission to direct the state government to immediately remove or cancel the teaser of Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas. AAP leaders said the move was necessary to protect social morality and safeguard vulnerable sections of society, and added that visual content on public platforms must adhere to cultural sensitivity and responsibility.

The teaser for "Toxic" was released on January 8th, Yash's 40th birthday. The video featured a glimpse of the Kannada film, but Yash's intimate scene with a woman in a car parked near a cemetery was the most viewed on social media. A group of social media users also criticized the director for claiming the teaser contained “excessive objectification of women.”

Geetu Mohandas gave the answer

Geetu Mohandas responded to trolls with a cryptic note on her Instagram Stories. She wrote, "Relaxing while people think about women's pleasure, consent, women's role in the system, etc."

Toxic to clash with 'Dhurandhar 2'

Yash also stars in Toxic alongside Nayanthara, Rukmini Vasanth, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, and Tara Sutaria. One of the most anticipated films of 2026, Toxic is slated to release on March 19th. It will clash with Dhurandhar Part 2 at the box office.
