News Topical, Digital Desk : The havoc caused by banned Chinese manjha (string thread) in the city continues unabated. Ahead of Makar Sankranti, a heartbreaking incident occurred in Indore's Tilak Nagar police station area, where a young man riding a motorcycle tragically died after being entangled in a kite string (Chinese manjha). The deceased has been identified as Raghuveer Dhakad. Raghuveer was returning home on his bike after finishing work when the Chinese manjha suddenly became entangled around his neck in the Tilak Nagar area.
The string was so sharp that Raghuveer's throat was deeply cut in the blink of an eye. Passersby immediately called an ambulance and rushed him to the hospital in critical condition, but due to excessive bleeding, doctors declared him dead.
The anger of the family erupted
Following this incident, the family of the deceased is deeply angered. Sanjay Dongre, a relative, expressed his grief, questioning the arrangements. He said, "Given the current situation, Makar Sankranti should be celebrated by eating only sesame seeds and jaggery. Risking one's life in the name of kite flying is not justified." He demanded that the administration take strict action against this deadly string.
Police and administration action
Given the seriousness of the matter, Tilak Nagar Police Station in-charge Manish Lodha said the police have registered a case and begun an investigation. He added, "Chinese thread has been completely banned by the district administration. Indore police are continuously conducting raids against those who sell and buy it."
It should be noted that despite numerous restrictions and awareness campaigns by the administration, the sale of Chinese thread continues unabated, proving fatal for innocent people. It remains to be seen how strict the police administration will take action against illegal vendors following this incident.
