During this, PM Modi will hold bilateral meetings with top leaders of Argentina. PM Modi was given a grand welcome at Ezeiza International Airport on Friday evening as per Argentina's local time.

This is the first time in the last 57 years that bilateral talks will take place between India and Argentina. This is PM Modi's second visit to Argentina as Prime Minister. Earlier, PM Modi had visited Argentina in 2018 to attend the G-20 summit.

 

A grand welcome in the capital

PM Modi was given a grand welcome in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina. PM Modi was welcomed in Argentina with a red carpet at Ezeiza Airport. During this, he was also given a guard of honor.

 

First bilateral visit in 57 years

In 1968, the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi visited Argentina for the first time. During this time bilateral talks were seen between the two countries. At the same time, PM Modi went to Argentina in 2018, but only to participate in the G-20 Summit. However, this time PM Modi will meet Argentine President Milley. According to the Ministry of External Affairs,

PM Modi and President Milind will discuss several key issues including energy, trade, defence, health, IT, food processing, agriculture and pharma.

Argentina and India trade

The Indian Foreign Ministry said, "There is a trade of more than $ 5 billion between India and Argentina. The target has been set to increase it to $ 8 billion in the next 3-4 years." Let us tell you that in 2022, both the countries signed an MoU to help in mineral resources.

 

will attend the BRICS summit

PM Modi is on a foreign tour of 5 countries. Before this, he has visited Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago. PM Modi will be on a tour of Argentina for two days, after which he will head to Brazil. The 17th summit is going to be held in Brazil, in which PM Modi will also participate. After this, PM Modi will visit Namibia.
