News Topical, Digital Desk : On February 19th, celebratory firing at a wedding ceremony in the Kotwali Nagar area of Bulandshahr district, Uttar Pradesh, took a serious turn. A bullet fired by a teenager struck 8-year-old Riyansh, standing on a nearby rooftop, in the head, seriously injuring him. Due to the child's critical condition, he was immediately referred to a higher medical center and is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Noida .
The accused's elder brother Vivek Verma committed suicide.
Following the incident, the city police, acting on the basis of a complaint, registered a case against Robin Verma, a resident of Sunaar Wali Gali, and his son. They were arrested and sent to jail. Following the incident, Robin Verma's elder brother, Vivek Verma, alias Sonu, was deeply distressed as he continuously attempted to reach a compromise with the injured child's family, but the victim's side was unwilling.
It is alleged that Harish Verma, alias Harro, a relative of the injured Riyansh, was constantly threatening to kill him. Due to this pressure and stress, Vivek Verma, alias Sonu, committed suicide by consuming poison. While undergoing treatment at the hospital, he gave his final statement to the police, in which he also mentioned the threats being made by Harish Verma.
Audio and video clips of Vivek Verma gave a twist in the case
The case took a new turn when audio and video clips of Vivek Verma, also known as Sonu, surfaced. The deceased's family alleges that Riyansh's father, Harish Verma, frequently threatened them over the phone and demanded a settlement of 1.5 crore rupees. After receiving numerous threatening calls, Vivek Verma recorded a call on his mobile phone in which he was threatened with death if he failed to obtain bail from the High Court or reopen his shop.
It is reported that on March 12th, Vivek Verma and Harish alias Harro had a phone conversation, after which he was under severe stress. Due to this mental stress, he went out of the house and consumed poison. He was taken to the district hospital in critical condition, where he mentioned the threats made by Riyansh's father in his statement to the police.
