News Topical, Digital Desk : Tensions remain high following US airstrikes on Iran's strategically important Kharg Island. According to local sources, several explosions were heard on the island during the attack, and smoke was seen rising from some areas. However, initial reports indicate that the attacks did not cause any damage to Iran's vital oil infrastructure.

Field sources reported that more than 15 explosions
were heard on Kharg Island during the attacks. Eyewitnesses reported seeing thick smoke rising from parts of the island after the explosions, indicating the severity of the situation.

According to sources ,
the enemy primarily targeted military installations in the attacks, including the army's air defense system, the Joshan naval base, the airport's control tower, and the Continental Shelf helicopter hangar.

According to ground reports, despite these attacks, no major oil-related infrastructure on the island was
damaged. Kharg Island is considered crucial for Iran's oil exports, so special vigilance is being exercised to protect this infrastructure.

Iran has warned of serious consequences if its energy infrastructure
is targeted. Iran has previously warned that in such a scenario, oil and gas facilities across the region, in which the US and its allies have stakes, could be targeted.

Trump's claim: All military bases targeted
Following the attacks, US President Donald Trump claimed that the US had struck all military targets on Kharg Island. The enemy had initially claimed that the island's air defense system had been completely destroyed. However, air defense activity was again observed approximately an hour after the attack, raising questions about these claims.

Trump has previously claimed the complete destruction of Iran's missile capabilities. However, the ongoing series of missile and
drone attacks by Iran has now reached its 48th round, further escalating tensions in the region.
