News Topical, Digital Desk : US President Donald Trump said on Monday that he has not spoken to Chinese President Xi Jinping, reiterating that the US has a very good relationship with China. He also mentioned that Xi wants the ongoing conflict in West Asia to end.

Speaking to reporters at the White House, the president said, "We have a very good relationship with China." Referring to the ongoing tensions in West Asia, Trump said, "Xi would like to see the war end."

'Did not speak to Xi Jinping'

Responding to a CNN question about US intelligence inputs and possible talks with the Chinese leadership, Trump clarified that he has not spoken directly to Xi on the matter , but warned that Beijing would face consequences if it provides military aid to Tehran.

Trump said, "If China does this, China is going to have a lot of problems, okay?" Amid these developments, Trump confirmed that his previously postponed trip to China has been rescheduled for next month. In a detailed post on Truth Social, Trump confirmed the revised schedule and outlined plans for mutual diplomatic engagement between Washington and Beijing.

He will visit China in May.

"My meeting with China's highly respected President Xi Jinping, which was originally postponed due to our military operation in Iran, has now been rescheduled and will take place in Beijing on May 14 and 15. First Lady Melania and I will also host President Xi and Madame Peng in Washington, D.C., at a later date this year," he said.
