Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's birthday was celebrated on December 21st. During the former Chief Minister's birthday celebrations, a pregnant woman objected to a young man's refusal to light firecrackers. The young man kicked her when she protested. This incident occurred in the Sri Sathya Sai district of the state.
Andhra Pradesh police paraded the main accused in the incident, Ajay Deva, a YSR Congress Party worker, through the city.
The police paraded the accused on the road from the RTC bus stand circle in Kadiri town of Sri Sathya Sai district to the regional police station.

Andhra Pradesh Police informed that the victim had asked the YSR Congress Party worker to go away from the crowd and burn the firecrackers so that no one gets hurt.
Ajay Deva became enraged and, along with another party worker, Anjinappa, strangled the victim and kicked her in the stomach. Police say the accused did this with the intention of killing the victim's unborn child.
Andhra Pradesh police took the matter seriously and arrested the accused and remanded him in judicial custody. Police are searching for another suspect, Anjinappa, who has been absconding since the incident.
