Cauliflower, cabbage, and broccoli are often avoided during fasting. This is because these vegetables fall into the cruciferous category and eating them often causes gas. Therefore, gas and acidity are common during fasting due to an empty stomach, and eating them can exacerbate these problems.
Make a distance from eggplant and mushrooms too
Many people also avoid eggplant during Navratri fasts. This is because eggplant, available after the rainy season, often contains insects, which can have adverse health effects. Similarly, mushrooms can cause digestive problems such as diarrhea, stomach pain, and vomiting, which can worsen during fasting.
