Memories of the warriors of war
The Defence Minister said that the stories of the 1965 war cannot be fully recorded in books. He said, "When Nambiar Sahib and Bedi Sahib shared their experiences today, I felt that much was left out in the books. The nights spent in tanks, the memories of the martyrs, all these are alive in the hearts of you brave soldiers. Their martyrdom will never go in vain."
Recalling the bravery of Param Vir Chakra winner Abdul Hamid, he said, “Abdul Hamid showed that wars are won not with weapons but with the spirit of the heart. He destroyed a line of enemy tanks. The 1965 war saw the world's biggest tank battle, in which India displayed its strength.”
Shastriji's courage, the country's victory

Recently, we also inflicted a crushing defeat on the enemy in Operation Sindoor." The 1965 war began on September 6 and ended with the Tashkent Agreement on January 10, 1966.
