Wayanad (Kerala) :  Due to heavy rains in Kerala, people's lives are in trouble. Due to two landslides in recent days, the death toll has crossed 300 so far. Meanwhile, Kerala Health Minister Veena George said on Friday that 199 bodies have been post-mortemed in Wayanad so far. In a post on Facebook, Minister George said that apart from this, DNA samples of 130 bodies have also been taken. He further said that ICUs have been prepared in hospitals in Wayanad to provide intensive care to people rescued from the disaster-hit areas. Hospitals, including Manjari Medical College and Kozhikode Medical College, have also been put on standby. These hospitals can also be reached by air.

The Air Force rescued two men and two women alive 

Meanwhile, the Indian Army has rescued four people, including two men and two women, alive during a rescue operation in Wayanad. According to officials, the rescued people were stranded at Padavetty Kunnu in Wayanad. The Army statement said one of the rescued women had a leg injury and was provided necessary medical assistance. Earlier, the Indian Army Engineer Task Force swiftly constructed a Bailey bridge over the Iruvanipizha river at Choorlamalla, greatly speeding up rescue operations in Wayanad.

10 teams formed for the rescue operation

To expedite the rescue operation, ten special teams have been formed, equipped with all the necessary rescue equipment, including dog squads and heavy soil removal equipment. These teams launched the search operation early in the morning in six designated areas: Punchirimattam, Mundakkai, school area, Choorlamalla town, village area and downstream, the Army's Southern Command said in a statement today. Brigadier Arjun Segan, Commandant of the Para Regimental Training Centre, said that the rescue operation is going on rapidly with additional teams of sniffer dogs. He said that local people are now included in the search teams, as they have more information. Today is the fourth day of this rescue operation. By around 6 pm yesterday evening, we completed the bridge work and started the movement of vehicles upstream.

Air Force is flying C-130 aircraft for Wayanad

The Indian Air Force is flying a C-130 aircraft from Hindon Air Base to Wayanad, it will carry a team of experts along with special drone systems to Wayanad, which will monitor the people trapped underground. These drone systems will search for people trapped underground.The search operation by rescue teams and dog squads began at 7 am today. It comprises 10 teams, 30 of which are from the armed forces, including the police. Coordinated rescue and relief operations by the Army, NDRF, SDRF and civil administration are underway at multiple places to quickly evacuate the stranded people and provide basic amenities and medical assistance.

The regional meteorological department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rains for five districts of Kerala including Wayanad. This alert has been issued for Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod.
