Tamil Nadu: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Friday said policewomen in the state force will be given one year of maternity leave and upon resuming work, they will be posted at a place of their choice for three years to bring up their children.

It is worth noting that after coming to power in 2021, the DMK government had increased the period of maternity leave for its employees from nine months to one year. He said that this step is being taken on the request of the police department personnel. The Chief Minister said that in addition, the professional skills of women police will be enhanced to deal with crimes against women and children so that they can deal with cyber crimes effectively.
