New Delhi: Auction of over 600 gifts mementos received by PM Modi opens: Special gifts and souvenirs received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from India and abroad are being auctioned. The Ministry of Culture is organizing this e-auction. The auction will run from September 17 to October 2, 2024. The auction includes more than 600 gifts and souvenirs, including a replica of the Ram temple.
Union Culture and Tourism Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat informed that this is the sixth edition of the auction of gifts and souvenirs received by PM Modi, which began in January 2019. The collection put up for auction reflects India's rich cultural heritage, spirituality, history and politics.
What's included in the auction?
The auction will feature vibrant paintings, intricate sculptures, local handicrafts, attractive folk and tribal artefacts including unique art forms like Pichwai Paintings, Khadi Shawls, Silver Filigree, Mata ni Pachedi Art, Gond Art and Madhubani Art representing the diverse cultural heritage of India.
The religious items in the auction include beautiful models of Shri Ram Temple (Ayodhya), Shri Dwarkadhish Temple (Dwarka) and magnificent statues of Hindu deities. At the same time, gifts of honour like angavastra, shawl, turban, sports shoes, racket, discus, silver peacock, silver veena, silver and ceremonial swords are also put up for auction. The e-auction has items priced from Rs 700 to Rs 10 lakh.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted on X and wrote, "Every year I auction various souvenirs received during public functions. The proceeds of the auction go to the Namami Gange initiative. I am happy to inform that this year's auction has started. Bid for the souvenirs you like."
