Will Rahul Gandhi take action against 'corruption shop': BJP

BJP spokesperson Shahzad Poonawala has reacted to the High Court's decision. He said, "After the Karnataka High Court's decision, the Congress party should tell us whether it is right for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to remain in office? Siddaramaiah should step down.

The BJP spokesperson further said that he (CM Siddaramaiah) looted the land meant for SC/ST community people. Rs 5000 crore corruption was done in MUDA scam. Siddaramaiah's family and friends benefited. Congress party does not care about SC/ST community people. Will Rahul Gandhi take action against 'corruption shop'?

What is MUDA?

Let us tell you that Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) is the state level development agency of Karnataka. The job of this agency is to provide housing to the people at affordable cost. MUDA had come up with a scheme for the people who lost their land during urban development.

In this scheme named 50:50, the people who lost their land were entitled to 50 percent of the developed land. This scheme was implemented for the first time in 2009. However, in 2020, the then BJP government discontinued this scheme.

What is the allegation against Siddaramaiah's family?

It is alleged that even after the closure of the scheme, MUDA continued to acquire and allot land under the 50:50 scheme. It is alleged that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's wife Parvati was benefited under this scheme. 3 acres and 16 guntas of land belonging to CM Siddaramaiah's wife was acquired by MUDA.
