New Delhi: Often when Indians buy readymade clothes, the biggest problem is that of fitting. People have to get shirts, pants, jeans made loose or tight according to their body. This is because the measurements used by international brands or domestic brands to make clothes are from America or Britain.
The Ministry of Textiles is soon going to launch the INDIAsize initiative . Actually, its aim is to establish standardized measurements that are better suited to the Indian body.
Readymade clothes are available in three categories
Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh has said that the government is going to launch the IndianSize initiative soon. Currently, US or UK measurements are used for international and domestic brand clothes available in India. It is divided into three categories, small, medium and large.
It is worth noting that the western body type is quite different from the Indian one in terms of height, weight or specific measurements of body parts, which causes fitting problems for Indians.
Indiaside project gets approval
The Ministry of Textiles has approved the IndiaSize project to develop standard body sizes for Indian apparel to address the existing disparities and inconsistencies in the fits provided.
Visionext is an Indian initiative that combines Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Emotional Intelligence (EI) to create fashion trend insights and predictions.
The Union Minister said that this Visionext portal has been launched in line with the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Earlier, America and Europe used to forecast fashion design, but for the first time under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Textiles has started this historic initiative in collaboration with NIFT.
