Guwahati: The Chief Minister has ordered an inquiry into the matter of a female policeman searching the private parts of a student during the Group-3 examination in Assam. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday asked the DGP to investigate the matter and submit a report. This incident took place in Nalbari, where the examination was conducted for recruitment to 'Group-3' posts.

CM Himanta ordered an inquiry

The state unit of the Aam Aadmi Party has sent a letter to the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), alleging violation of the fundamental rights of the student.

Sarma said the Director General of Police informed him about another incident in North Lakhimpur where cheating material was recovered from a female candidate during the examination. He said, "For me, the dignity and honour of our mothers and sisters is of utmost importance. There can be no compromise on this."
