An Indian smuggler has been arrested in the African country Zambia. More than 19 crore cash and gold worth more than 4 crores has been recovered from him. The accused person was preparing to go to Dubai by packing all this stuff in his suitcase. The police caught him at the Zambia airport.

 

This incident happened at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka, Zambia. A 27-year-old man arrived at the airport to catch a flight to Dubai. During checking at the airport, the police became suspicious of him. When Zambia's Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) checked his suitcase during the investigation, everyone was shocked.

 

What was found in the bag?

The accused person had hidden a lot of bundles of notes and gold bricks in his bag. During this, the police found 2.32 million dollars (19 crores rupees) and 7 bricks of gold worth 5 lakh dollars (4 crores rupees). The person had tied the cash with rubber and kept it in the bag. The gold bricks were also lying in a similar bag.

 

What did the police say?

DEC says that many international organizations may also be involved in this crime. Police is investigating the matter. All the accused will be arrested soon.

This is the reason why gold smuggling is often seen here. This is not the first time that such a case has come to light from Zambia. In 2023, 5 citizens of Egypt were caught with 127 kg of gold and crores of rupees.
