News Topical, Digital Desk : The controversy surrounding Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's viral hijab photo continues, and political leaders are reacting to the matter. Samajwadi Party MP Iqra Hasan also reacted, saying, "We demand that the Chief Minister publicly apologize to the woman."

SP MP Iqra Hasan, speaking on CM Nitish Kumar's viral hijab controversy, said, "While the government talks about respecting women, the Chief Minister humiliated a woman who had risen to that position through her own merit. Today, the woman has left Bihar and gone to live with her brother in Kolkata. We strongly condemn this incident... We understand that the Chief Minister is elderly, but no elder or fatherly figure has the right to pull a woman's veil. We demand that the Chief Minister publicly apologize to the woman."

Responding to the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP)'s demand for a ban on the burqa, Samajwadi Party MP Iqra Hasan said, "As far as I know, the country still operates under the Constitution. This is an independent nation, and we are free citizens of independent India. Our rights are guaranteed by the Constitution. Who gives the Constitution the right to dictate how we should live, what we should do, and what we should not do? They have no such authority. No individual grants these rights. Everyone is free to run their organization as they wish; we are not under anyone's control."

Meanwhile, on Thursday (December 18th), Samajwadi Party (SP) leaders in Lucknow put up posters against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Uttar Pradesh Minister Sanjay Nishad. The posters attacked Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, stating, "Girls asking for appointment letters, their hijabs being removed."

Meanwhile, a poster against Minister Sanjay Nishad read, "In the arrogance of power, the minister is forgetting his decorum. He dismisses the crime as minor, mocks women's dignity, and calls himself a leader." SP leaders have put up posters supporting Akhilesh Yadav, stating, "In this dark age, there is one voice that stands firm; Akhilesh Yadav stands as a shield for every woman's dignity."
