News Topical, Digital Desk : The Bihar government's Dairy, Fisheries, and Animal Resources Department has launched a special scheme for fishermen. It's called the Boat and Net Package Distribution Scheme. Under this scheme, members of the State Fishermen's Cooperative Society or traditional fishermen are being given a subsidy of 90 percent of the prescribed unit cost for the purchase of a boat or net
These people will get the benefit of the scheme
In addition to traditional fishermen, women fishermen and Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe fishermen will also be able to benefit from this scheme. Beneficiaries under the scheme include members of the state's Fishermen's Cooperative Society or fishermen who engage in fishing.
Each individual or family member will be eligible for a maximum of one of the following components: the Fishing Uden Boat Package, Fishing FRP Boat Package, and Cost (Felted) Net Package. This government decision will provide significant relief to the fishing community.
Fishermen from all districts can avail the benefits of the scheme.
The unit cost for the Fishing Uden Boat package is ₹124,400, for the Fishing FRP Boat package ₹154,400, and for the Cast (Fake) Net package ₹16,700. Beneficiaries will be selected by a committee headed by the Deputy Fisheries Director.
This scheme, run by the state government's Dairy, Fisheries and Animal Resources Department, will empower fishermen and increase their income. Fishermen in all districts of the state can benefit from the state government's ambitious Boat and Net Package Distribution Scheme.
