The Railways has released its timetable for the year 2026. Twenty-six Amrit trains are scheduled to begin operating this year. Furthermore, increased train speeds will also save people time.
Railways started new trains
Indian Railways is launching 122 new trains this year, focusing on both passenger comfort and speed.
- The Railways will introduce 28 new Vande Bharat trains this year, strengthening semi-high-speed connectivity.
- To make the journey of people better and comfortable, 26 Amrit trains are also being started.
- Indian Railways is also introducing 60 mail and express trains this year, including two Rajdhani, two Jan Shatabdi, two Humsafar, and two Namo Bharat Rapid Rail.

East Central Railway – Indian Railways is running the highest number of trains in this zone, with 20 new trains running and 20 trains being extended.
Northern Railway – Northern Railway has been gifted 20 new trains, further strengthening the connectivity of North India.

North Western Railway- Indian Railways has increased the speed of 89 trains of this zone.
North East Frontier Railway- North East Frontier Railway has introduced 10 new trains and increased the speed of 36 trains.
