News Topical, Digital Desk : Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will hold talks with his French counterpart Catherine Vautrin in Bengaluru on February 17, during which some key agreements are expected to be signed to boost defence cooperation.

According to the Ministry of Defence, a defence cooperation agreement is likely to be renewed for another 10 years. A memorandum of understanding on a joint venture to manufacture Hammer missiles is also expected to be signed.

India-France Annual Defence Dialogue

The ministry said that Rashtrapati Bhavan will co-chair the sixth India-France Annual Defence Dialogue with Catherine Vautrin, Minister of the Armed Forces and Veterans Affairs of France in Bengaluru on February 17.

Review of all aspects of defence cooperation

During the visit, all aspects of bilateral defense cooperation will be reviewed, with a focus on enhancing industrial cooperation. Defense has traditionally been an important pillar of relations between the two countries. This will be Vautrin's first visit, having assumed office on October 12 last year.
