News Topical, Digital Desk : A woman living in a rented house in Isamia Bazaar, Hyderabad, committed suicide after being unable to quit her alcohol addiction. The incident occurred on Wednesday, March 11.
Police said on Thursday that the woman had developed a drinking habit and that her husband had warned her against it daily. He had also scolded her for drinking before she committed suicide.
According to the police, the woman locked the door of the room from inside and committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan.
Husband scolds wife for drinking alcohol
A police officer providing details of the case said the woman's father filed a police complaint. The woman's father told police that his daughter, who was married 10 years ago, had recently become addicted to alcohol. This led to frequent fights between her and her husband.
The woman's father further told police that his son-in-law called him on Wednesday and told him that his daughter had locked the room door from inside. When he called from outside, his daughter neither opened the door nor responded. He was later told that his daughter had hanged herself.
The complainant told police that his son-in-law had scolded his wife and told her not to drink alcohol. Afterward, he took his two children out for breakfast. Upon returning home, he found the woman hanging from a fan with a sari.
The woman's husband, with the help of others nearby, immediately opened the door, helped her down, and called an ambulance. After an examination, ambulance staff determined that the woman was dead.
The complainant stated that he does not suspect anyone of any involvement in his daughter's death. Based on the complaint, a case has been registered at the Kachiguda police station.
