News Topical, Digital Desk : Gujarat Police has arrested the father and uncle of an 18-year-old girl for her murder. According to the police, the girl was in a live-in relationship with a married man. Due to this, the girl's family killed her.

Murder case filed against father and uncle

Police said the incident took place just days before the hearing of her live-in partner's habeas corpus petition in the high court. Assistant Superintendent of Police Suman Nala of Danta division said based on the complaint of her live-in partner Haresh Chaudhary, police registered an FIR on Wednesday and filed a case of murder against the girl's father Sendhabhi Patel and uncle Shivrambhai Patel.

Father did not like the relationship

Nala said that her father Sendhabhai Patel and uncle Shivrambhai Patel have been arrested. Nala said that the girl was in love with Haresh Chaudhary. Both of them had also agreed to live in a live-in relationship, which was not acceptable to Sendhabhai and his brother. Therefore, on June 24, after making her unconscious, both of them strangled her. They cremated her without informing the police.

Investigation ordered into the teenager's death

Last week, Banaskantha Superintendent of Police Akshayraj Makwana had ordered an inquiry into the teenager's death. Harish Chaudhary, a resident of Vadgamada village in Tharad taluka of Banaskantha, had filed an application alleging that the girl's relatives might have killed her as they were against their relationship and wanted to get her married to someone else.

Live in partner asked for permission to present the girl in court

According to Chaudhary, when the messages were sent, he could not read them as he was in jail at the time. He then approached his lawyer, who filed a habeas corpus petition in the Gujarat High Court demanding the girl to be produced in court.

The police is investigating the matter

However, just two days before the hearing, on June 25, Choudhary learnt that she had died on the night of June 24 and was cremated the next morning. The police are now investigating the case.
