News Topical, Digital Desk : F&O Shares: The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has decided to exclude five stocks from the Futures and Options (F&O) segment from the August 2025 series. According to NSE, shares of Aarti Industries, Birlasoft, Hindustan Copper, Mumbai Gas Limited (MGL) and Piramal Enterprises will not be included in F&O trading from the August series.

This change will be effective from August 1, 2025. The exchange has taken this step on the basis of the trading volume and market cap of those stocks, so that the quality and transparency of the F&O segment is maintained. Investors have been advised to take their investment decision keeping this change in mind.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) had said in a circular issued on March 20, 2025 that new expiry month contracts will no longer be offered in these 5 companies - Apollo Tyres, Deepak Nitrite, Escorts Kubota, MRF and Ramco Cements. That is, from June 2025, no new futures or options contracts will be available for trading in these stocks. NSE is excluding these 5 stocks from the derivatives segment to comply with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) circular issued in August 2024, which relates to the entry and exit of stocks in the derivatives segment. As per the new guidelines of market regulator SEBI, stocks that do not meet the set standards for three consecutive months will be excluded from the derivatives segment. Among the major changes, the average daily delivery value for stocks in the F&O segment has been increased from ₹ 10 crore to ₹ 30 crore and the minimum market wide position limit (MWPL) has been increased from ₹ 500 crore to ₹ 1,500 crore.
