News Topical, Digital Desk : Rajnandgaon district in Chhattisgarh has become a hub for Christian missionaries over the past few months. According to sources, David Chacko, arrested in March this year, was associated with the American organization The Timothy Initiative (TTI), which is being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

From the district headquarters to the villages, a network of missionaries is spread, actively involved in religious conversions. According to Lal Laxmendra Shah, a senior tribal leader, trained individuals are working throughout the state, including Mohla-Manpur, and their primary target is women. Missionaries have developed a strategy by categorizing different religions and regions.

Sick and helpless families are being targeted

There are two centers in Mohla and nine in Manpur, where regular meetings are held. They target sick and vulnerable families, gradually gaining their trust and attempting to convert them to their religious beliefs. Community leaders say that the missionary's funding is spreading its roots, which is becoming a major threat.

TTI is preparing sleeper cells for conversions. Pastor David Chacko is training such individuals across the state. Meetings are being held in churches in Paneka and Dharmapur, near the headquarters. Protests have erupted several times against these groups. Besides tribals, OBCs are also becoming victims of conversion.

Women are the target

Case 1: A woman from the Yadav community in Rajiv Nagar, the district headquarters, converted. She began attending prayer meetings. Her two sons have also converted.

Case 2: A woman in the Manpur area who had converted to Christianity began taking her friend to prayer meetings because she was unable to have children. She was misled and converted.
