LPG cylinders are just a click away! 98% of people are now booking gas online, with significant news emerging regarding offline systems.

News Topical, Digital Desk : The government has provided information regarding the LPG cylinder booking process. According to the government, the booking process has now become largely digital. Approximately 98% of refill bookings are now done online or digitally. This is providing convenience to the public and making the system faster and more transparent. 

The government also stated that approximately 94 percent of deliveries are using Delivery Authentication Codes (DACs). This is intended to ensure that cylinders reach the correct consumers and prevent any potential misappropriation or misuse. Let's learn more about this.

Major changes in LPG supply and digital system

• Officials said oil companies are still prioritizing household needs. According to statistics, more than 5 million domestic LPG cylinders are being supplied daily. Despite the supply shortages caused by ongoing tensions in the Middle East, efforts are being made to maintain domestic gas supplies. 
• LPG bookings are now largely digital. Previously, this figure was around 71 percent. In March, it reached 80 percent and has now reached nearly 98 percent. This means that most people are now booking through apps, calls, or SMS.

Delivery authentication code being used for supply

The DAC used in deliveries has also increased significantly. Statistics show that while it was 53% previously, it rose to 72% in March and has now reached nearly 94%. This code is sent to the customer's mobile phone, and deliveries are made using it. The DAC system is used to prevent fraud in gas cylinder supply. 

Direct impact of LPG prices

Changes in LPG prices directly impact household budgets, as it is the primary cooking gas in most Indian households. When prices rise, monthly expenses also increase.

Rising prices don't just affect households, but also small businesses. For restaurants, street food vendors, and caterers, reduced gas supply or rising prices can increase their costs, making their services more expensive.
