News Topical, Digital Desk : Everyone has praised the Indian Army's 'Operation Sindoor'. Under Operation Sindoor, the Indian Army destroyed 9 terrorist hideouts in Pakistan. A large number of terrorists have also been killed. Now, a new record has emerged regarding Operation Sindoor.
It was even more than the 2016 'surgical strike'
The Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) has released data on Operation Sindoor. BARC said on Monday that the number of television news viewers during the Indian Army's 'Operation Sindoor' in Hindi speaking markets was more than the number of news viewers recorded in the days around the 2016 'surgical strike'.
Share of Hindi TV news increased by 15 percent
BARC said the share of Hindi TV news in over 15 HSMs (Hindi speaking markets) increased to 15 per cent during the week of 'Operation Sindoor' from 4 per cent before the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22. The organisation said this is "higher than the share achieved during the surgical strikes in 2016."
Concerns were raised about this matter
The latest figures showing an increase in TV viewership have come at a time when concerns have been raised over the quality of reporting during 'Operation Sindoor' regarding the veracity of the reports and the style of presentation.
Operation Sindoor took place on the night of 6 May
Let us tell you that the Indian armed forces carried out 'surgical' strikes on Pakistan-based terrorist bases on 29 September 2016 in response to the deadly terrorist attack on the military base in Uri. A few days after 26 civilians were killed in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the Indian armed forces attacked at least 9 terrorist bases in Pakistan and its occupied Kashmir under 'Operation Sindoor' late on the night of 6 May.
