News Topical, Digital Desk : India is set to launch another missile to strengthen its defense capabilities. After the success of Operation Sindoor, India's move has become a topic of discussion. Actually, the country is getting ready to test its most refined hypersonic missile, the Extended Trajectory-Long Duration Hypersonic Cruise Missile (ET-LDHCM).
This missile has been developed as part of DRDO's secret Project-Vishnu, which has been specially developed using indigenous technology. This missile will prove to be a game changer in the coming times and will be extremely lethal for the enemies. This missile will have so much capability that it will have the ability to change the balance of power.
What is the speciality of this missile?
After the success of ET-LDHCM, India will have the power to attack deep into the territory of China, Pakistan or any enemy in just a few minutes. Its target will be extremely accurate. This missile can cover a distance of three kilometers in a second at its maximum speed of Mach 8, which is about 11,000 km/h and eight times the speed of sound. According to reports, it is almost impossible for current radar and air defense systems to stop it at this speed. That is, even the enemy's radar and air defense system will not be able to stop it.
The engine is also special
Equipped with a range of around 1,500 kilometres, the ET-LDHCM can destroy enemy targets using conventional or nuclear warheads weighing 1,000-2,000 kilograms.
Its engine can maintain hypersonic speed for a long time, drawing air from the atmosphere to burn fuel. That's why it is lethal. An impressive ground test of the engine has already been successfully completed by DRDO.
Can maneuver during flight
The ET-LDHCM can maneuver in mid-flight, and is made of heat-resistant materials that can withstand temperatures of up to 2,000 degrees Celsius. With the ability to launch from land, air or sea, India has never had so many strategic options before. But now India is becoming increasingly stronger.
Which other countries have this missile system?
India now has the ET-LDHCM, joining a select group of countries that have mastered hypersonic missile technology. This also includes the US, China and Russia. The missile was designed and manufactured at the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Missile Complex in Hyderabad in collaboration with commercial Indian defense companies, which will enhance India's achievement.
