According to the information, Rajendra Prasad Tiwari, a resident of Sarai Jamuari village of Kandhai Hanumanganj police station area of ​​Pratapgarh district, had died. The family members had reached Rasulabad Ghat in Prayagraj with his body for the last rites.

Due to floods, the normal route to the Ghat was closed, so the family started taking the body to the cremation ground through another route. There was a dispute with the boatmen over this issue. Soon the dispute turned into a fight. Five people were seriously injured in this fight and have been admitted to the hospital for treatment.

The sailors attacked with sticks and rods

It is being told that the sailors attacked the family members with sticks. The video of the incident is becoming increasingly viral on social media, in which the domineering sailors are seen beating the people who had come to perform the last rites.

About five people were seriously injured in this fight. The injured were first admitted to Bailey Hospital, from where they were referred to SRN Hospital after seeing their critical condition. The family members and villagers, enraged by the incident, kept the dead body and protested for some time.

The victim's family made these allegations

The victim's family alleges that the police was informed about the incident immediately, but only two policemen arrived at the spot after a delay of about 40 minutes and returned after formal inquiry. People expressed their displeasure over this too.

In this case, the victim party has given a complaint in Shivkuti police station. However, the station in-charge says that no formal complaint has been lodged with him so far. At present, after the viral video and the allegations of the victims, questions are also being raised on the role of the police.

Local people say that the administration should take strict action on such incidents so that such disputes and violence do not happen again at sensitive places like cremation grounds.
