News Topical, Digital Desk : The residence of Bharatiya Adivasi Party (BAP) general category state president Digvijay Singh Chundawat in Karelia village of Dungarpur district was attacked late on Tuesday night.

It is alleged that some people broke down the gate of his house and opened fire. Digvijay Singh had previously received death threats over the phone. He has filed a report at the Dovda police station.

Digvijay Singh told the police that at around 9:01 pm, he received a call on his mobile phone from Virendra Singh Chauhan, son of Bhagwan Singh Chauhan, who threatened him, "Today is your death." A short time later, at 11 pm, a camper vehicle arrived outside his house and broke down the gate.

Virendra Singh got out of the car with a weapon and opened fire. Four other people were also present with him. All the accused fled the scene after the incident.

Chundawat said this isn't the first time he's received threats. The accused has previously threatened him on social media and over the phone on October 11. Dovda police station officer Bhanwar Singh said the incident appears to be related to a political rivalry.

Based on Digvijay Singh's report, a case has been registered under sections of breaching the gate and threatening. However, the police team did not find any evidence of firing at the scene. A thorough investigation into the incident is underway and the accused are being searched for.
