What I love most about her is her discipline. I'm a big believer in discipline. I'm a very strict mother.

Amitabh Bachchan rarely expresses his opinions compared to Jaya. Explaining why, the actress and MP said:

He doesn't speak up. He's not as free to express his opinions as I am. He keeps them to himself, but he knows how to say what he wants at the right time and in the right way, which I don't. That's the difference. He's a different personality, which is probably why I married him.

Jaya Bachchan jokingly said that if she had married someone like him, he would probably be in Vrindavan and she would be somewhere else.
