In its first three hours online, Barota received 2.2 million views and over 700,000 likes. Engagement was high within the first ten minutes, with the like count exceeding 200,000. Following Moosewala's death in May 2022 in Jawaharke village, Mansa district, "Barota" is his ninth posthumous song. His family has been overseeing the releases and commemorating milestones in his artistic legacy. Earlier this year, the three-song album "Moose Print" was launched on Moosewala's 32nd birthday. It garnered 100 million views in four months.
