News Topical, Digital Desk : Electricity consumers in Uttar Pradesh are set to receive significant relief starting today, Monday (December 1st). The 90-day Electricity Bill Relief Scheme 2025-26 is being launched on the instructions of the Uttar Pradesh government. This scheme aims to provide significant relief to electricity bill defaulters. This scheme includes a 100 percent interest waiver and relief on the principal amount. 

The Electricity Bill Relief Scheme will run from December 1, 2025, to February 28, 2026. Both domestic and commercial consumers will be eligible for this scheme, including domestic consumers up to 2 kilowatts and commercial consumers up to 1 kilowatt. It will also offer the option of paying bills in easy installments.

Big relief plan in electricity bill

The objective of this scheme is to relieve consumers of the burden of electricity bills, allowing them to find solutions to their electricity-related problems in a simple and easy way. This scheme will provide a 100% interest waiver on electricity bills, along with a substantial rebate of up to 25% on the principal amount.

Additionally, provisions have been made for up to 100% surcharge/interest rebate and the ability to pay electricity bills in small, easy installments. The system also allows for automatic reduction of inflated bills based on average consumption, and provides relief and relief from lawsuits in all types of electricity theft cases. 

Register like this

To benefit from this scheme, consumers must first register. A registration fee of ₹2,000 will be required, which will be adjusted against your bill. Consumers can register through www.uppcl.org or the UPPCL Consumer App, through departmental offices, fintech agents, meter readers, or public service centers.
