News Topical, Digital Desk : A tragic accident took place near Nelamangala on the outskirts of the city. Five people died in a collision between a car and a KSRTC bus. Police gave information about this accident on Sunday. According to the police, the incident took place on Saturday midnight, when a car going towards Bengaluru hit the divider and went into the opposite lane. After this, the car collided with an oncoming bus. According to the police, the accident was so severe that all four people in the car died on the spot, while another person was seriously injured, who was taken to the hospital, where he died.
All the deceased were between 17 and 22 years of age
Officials suspect the car may have been speeding and the driver may have lost control, causing the accident. The car was badly damaged in the accident. The deceased are estimated to be aged between 17 and 22, and were residents of Doddaballapura. However, all 43 passengers on the bus were not seriously injured. Following the accident, the passengers were transferred to another bus for their onward journey. The Madanayakanahalli police have registered a case regarding the incident. Police say further investigation is underway.
The man had left saying he was going to the temple
Joint Police Commissioner Karthik Reddy said the cause of the accident will be investigated, including whether the driver and passengers of the car had consumed alcohol. "We have collected blood samples and sent them to the FSL for testing. Their backgrounds are also being investigated," he said. The mother of one of the victims said her son had told her he was going to a temple and would be late. "I have lost my son, who was already an adult. He worked as a CCTV camera operator. They (the deceased) were all friends; I don't know who owned the car," she said.
Five people also died in Tamil Nadu
In another accident, a two-wheeler collided with a tourist vehicle in Vaippar-I village in Tamil Nadu. At least five people, including two children, were killed in the accident. Chief Minister MK Stalin expressed condolences to the deceased and announced ex-gratia. In a statement, Stalin expressed grief over the accident and said that he was deeply shocked to learn that all five people riding the two-wheeler died on the spot after colliding with an oncoming vehicle. The deceased included two boys aged three and five. The Chief Minister announced an ex-gratia of Rs 3 lakh each to the families of the deceased.
