Citing a western disturbance, the IMD has predicted rain and hailstorms in Delhi-NCR from October 5 to October 7. This weather forecast comes as the country is preparing for the festive season, which begins with Navratri and continues until the end of this month.
Winds will blow at a speed of 50 kilometers per hour
According to the IMD, heavy rain is expected in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and the hilly northern states. A heavy rain alert has also been issued for several states on Monday (October 6). According to the Meteorological Department, Delhi may receive light rain on Sunday. Heavy rain is also expected by Tuesday (October 7) along with strong winds of up to 50 kilometers per hour.
The temperature will drop
During this period, cold northwesterly winds may cause temperatures to drop significantly. Temperatures may drop significantly from the second week of October, well before the gradual onset of winter. A Meteorological Department official said, "Night temperatures will drop immediately after this western disturbance passes, as cold northwesterly winds will begin blowing from the hills to the plains."
This time there was heavy monsoon rain
Parts of Delhi recorded nearly 10 percent more rainfall than normal in September, the highest since August, which was the wettest since 2010. Overall, Delhi-NCR received above-average monsoon rainfall this time.
