News Topical, Digital Desk : A shocking incident has emerged from Karnataka. A man murdered his close friend and stole ₹2.5 lakh from his wife. He used the stolen money to buy gifts for his ex-wife. The accused, Shafi, a resident of Birur in Chikkamagaluru district, had murdered his friend Puttaraju. Police have arrested him.

He murdered his friend for money.

According to police, the incident occurred on February 19th, when Shafi called Puttaraju on the pretext of attending a gold auction organized by a finance company. Trusting Shafi, Puttaraju left home around 11 a.m. with approximately ₹2.5 lakh in cash. Shafi then forced Puttaraju onto his bike and drove him to a forested area near Honnavalli. He stabbed Puttaraju to death and fled with the cash. The next morning, a milkman passing by on a forest road discovered the body and informed the police. The police registered a case and began an investigation.

Bought a gift for his ex-wife

Police investigating the case found that after committing the murder, Shafi went to meet his ex-wife at a lodge in Arasikere. There, he gave her 60,000 rupees and bought her a new television. According to officials, Shafi and Puttaraju had been friends for seven years. Police have arrested Shafi, the accused in the murder case.
