Ottawa:The leader of a Canadian opposition party said on Tuesday he is working to topple Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's government, saying he needs the help of other MPs to do so. Comments by Bloc Quebecois leader Yves-François Blanchet pose a major challenge to Trudeau's minority Liberal government.
Justin Trudeau, who has been in power for the past nine years, needs the support of other MPs to save his government. In exchange for supporting Trudeau, our party wants more money for seniors and a tariff and quota system that protects dairy farmers.
Endorsed Trudeau twice in the last five weeks
Blanchet said Trudeau has not kept his promise on time. He told reporters that we are in talks with opposition parties to topple the government. For this, Blanchet needs the support of the leftist New Democratic Party (NDP), which has supported Trudeau twice in the last five weeks. Bloc Quebecois is the second largest party among the four opposition parties in Canada, which wants independence for the province of Quebec.

In September, investigators issued search warrants at three homes in Brampton, a home in Waterloo and a warehouse in Caledon. The searches at the homes and warehouse yielded 11 pistols, more than 900 rounds of ammunition, 32 banned magazines, 53 Glock selector switches, and drugs including cocaine and opium. The lethal weapons recovered include parts that can be used to convert ordinary weapons into automatic revolvers and guns in a short time.
