New Delhi: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Monday called upon public servants to remain above partisanship and said they must adopt a nationalist and federalist outlook.
Addressing the Assistant Secretaries of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) 2022 batch here, Vice President Dhankhar said that public servants should always look beyond partisan approach. He said that a public servant should not have any involvement with political parties.
The Vice President called upon the officers to adopt a nationalistic and federalist approach and always keep the national interest supreme and uphold the rule of law. Dhankhar urged the civil servants to maintain high ethical principles and said that you are the harbingers of change. You are the key pillar of quality governance and the torchbearers of rapid development.
He said that the public service is more representative than ever before and has representation from all sections of society, especially those from weaker and underprivileged backgrounds. Dhankar said that today India is full of hope and possibilities and is the most preferred place for investment. He said that opportunities for the youth are increasing day by day.
