New Delhi. The first session of the 18th Lok Sabha is likely to begin on June 15. Giving this information on Friday, sources said that the final decision on the date will be taken by the new cabinet. In the first session, the newly elected members will be sworn in as members of the House.
The swearing-in ceremony may continue for two days. After this, the new speaker will be elected. The next day, the President will address the joint sitting of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. During the session, the Prime Minister will introduce his Council of Ministers in both the houses. This session of the Lok Sabha is likely to end on June 22.
Sources say that a meeting of the new cabinet may be held immediately after the swearing-in on Sunday. It is worth noting that on the recommendation of the Union Cabinet, President Draupadi Murmu dissolved the 17th Lok Sabha on June 5.
