The Tata Education and Development Trust provided the Tata Scholarship Fund with $28 million to enable Cornell University to provide financial aid to graduate students from India. The annual scholarship supports about 20 students at a time.

Tata Group's focus has always been on healthcare

Tata Group companies and Tata Charities donated $50 million to Harvard Business School (HBS) in 2010 for the construction of an executive centre.

 In the 1970s he initiated the Aga Khan Hospital and Medical College project, which laid the foundation for one of India's premier healthcare institutions.

The Tata Group loaned $950 million to the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay in 2014 and created the Tata Centre for Technology and Design (TCTD). This was the largest donation ever received in the history of the institute.
