Washington: When elections come, candidates do everything to win. But now is the age of technology, a new technology is emerging in the world every day. At the same time, there is a technology called AI which is making human life easy as well as difficult. Now AI is being used even in elections.

A similar case has come to light from America where the FCC has imposed a fine of six million dollars i.e. 50 crore Indian rupees on a political consultant for making fake robocalls to voters. Political consultant Kramer has admitted to deepfake Joe Biden's voice.

FCC imposed fines following investigation

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is an independent U.S. government agency that enforces laws and regulations related to communications. The FCC investigation found that political consultant Steve Kramer used AI-generated voice-cloning technology and caller ID spoofing to spread election misinformation.

The FCC says this violates the Truth in Caller ID Act and Kramer must pay the issued fine within 30 days. If he fails to do so, the case will be handed over to the US Department of Justice.

President Joe Biden's voice is also in a fake call

Fake robocall used President Joe Biden's AI-generated voice The fake robocall, directed by Steve Kramer, urged New Hampshire voters to refrain from voting in the state's Democratic primary and said your vote matters in November. The call sounded as if President Joe Biden was speaking.

Voters were being given false suggestions

Political consultant Steven Kramer worked for Joe Biden challenger Dean Phillips early in the US presidential election campaigns, though Phillips has publicly denounced the robocalls. The investigation was launched on January 22, 2024, after reports surfaced of thousands of New Hampshire residents receiving a robocall urging New Hampshire voters to save their vote for the November election, falsely suggesting that voting in November mattered more than voting in the primary.
