Ravindra said, "As far as the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are concerned, they were, are and will always remain an integral and inseparable part of India." This was the second consecutive day when Munir raised the Kashmir issue in his remarks at the UN and India responded strongly.

78 serious violations reported against 73 children in Pakistan

The Secretary-General's report on children and armed conflict shows that a total of 73 grave violations were reported against 13 children (53 boys, seven girls, gender unknown) in Pakistan. The report covers incidents from January to December 2023.

UN chief commented on the report about Pakistan

In his comments about Pakistan in the report, the UN chief said, “I am concerned about the increase in reported grave violations, particularly the killing and maiming of children, attacks against schools, and incidents in the border areas with Afghanistan.”
