. Karnataka Pilgrims Bus Accident A major road accident has taken place in Haveri district of Karnataka. 13 people died and two others were seriously injured when a mini bus collided with a parked truck in Byadagi taluk here in the early hours of Friday.
All the people were returning from pilgrimage
Police said the victims were residents of Shivamogga and were returning from Savadatti in Belagavi district after a pilgrimage to visit Goddess Yellamma. The injured have been admitted to a hospital and their condition is said to be critical.
The accident is suspected to have happened because the bus driver fell asleep
The bus driver appeared to have fallen asleep, leading to the accident, police said. Further investigations are underway, police said.
