Lokayukta officials were shocked on Tuesday when they found a private swimming pool and gym during a raid at the residence of Deputy Superintendent of Police Nanjundaiah in Bengaluru. The Lokayukta said Nanjundaiah was one of the 10 government officials raided in connection with disproportionate assets.

A Lokayukta official said officials were stunned to see the grandeur of the police officer's residence, which had magnificent murals, terraced lawns, a garden, a restaurant-like service area near the swimming pool and gleaming staircases.
According to the Lokayukta, searches were conducted at eight places linked to the police officer which led to the discovery of assets worth Rs 12.53 crore. These include five plots and a house worth Rs 11.05 crore. In another raid, the Lokayukta team seized a huge amount of cash and a note counting machine from the house of Akesh Babu, Deputy Secretary of the Higher Education Department.

Sources said he has assets worth Rs 7.92 crore. M Lokesh Babu was found to have assets worth Rs 6.71 crore, including two plots of land and three houses. According to the Lokayukta, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) revenue inspector S G Suresh was found to have assets worth Rs 1.83 crore, including three plots of land, two houses, a farmhouse and four acres and five guntas of agricultural land.
Raids were also conducted at the residence of Bengaluru Rural District Health Officer M C Sunil Kumar, which revealed assets worth Rs 5.17 crore, including a plot and three houses.
The premises of Chitradurga Assistant Forest Conservator S Suresh were also raided
According to the Lokayukta, raids were also conducted at the premises of BBMP's Vidyaranyapura tax inspector Krishnappa, Gadag Panchayat Raj Engineering Division assistant Laxman Konerappa Karani, Kalaburagi Municipal Corporation superintending engineer Ramappa Pandu Jadhav, Koppal excise inspector Ramesh B Agadi and Chitradurga assistant forest conservator S Suresh.
