India has achieved a major success in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack case. The way has been cleared to bring Pakistani-origin Canadian businessman Tahawwur Rana to India. The US court has now approved the extradition. The FBI arrested Rana from Chicago in 2009.

 

Rana is lodged in Los Angeles jail

Tahawwur Rana is currently lodged in a Los Angeles jail. 63-year-old Rana had helped Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist David Coleman Headley. Headley is the mastermind of the Mumbai attack. India has been demanding his extradition for a long time. Now the way has been cleared to bring Rana under the India-US extradition treaty.

India presented strong evidence against Rana in the court. After this, the US court said that the charges against Rana in India are different from those in America. However, he has been acquitted under the US charges. The court admitted that India's evidence against Rana, who helped David Headley, is strong. On the basis of these evidences, Rana will now be brought to India soon.

 

 

Tehvur was associated with ISI

In 2011, a US court acquitted Rana of the charges of promoting terrorist attacks. But he was convicted of helping Lashkar-e-Taiba and in the terrorist conspiracy case in Denmark. David Headley also testified against Rana. He had full knowledge of the Mumbai attack. He was also in contact with terrorist masters in Pakistan. According to information, Tahawwur Rana is associated with Pakistan's notorious intelligence agency ISI.

 

 

Born in Pakistan, acquired Canadian citizenship

Rana was born in Pakistan. But later he became a Canadian citizen. Before going to Canada, Rana worked as a doctor in the Pakistan Army for 10 years. Later he started plotting terrorist attacks against India.

 

He has travelled to many countries including Germany, England and Canada. He conspired to carry out the Mumbai attacks along with David Headley and Lashkar. On 26 November 2008, 10 Pakistani terrorists had shaken the country's financial capital Mumbai. A total of 166 people, including six American citizens, lost their lives in the terror attack.
