Horlicks will no longer be a health food drink but will be recognized as a functional nutritional drink. Hindustan Unilever has changed the name of its health food drinks category. Now it has become a Functional Nutritional Drink (FND). Hulu has taken this decision following the decision of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in which the Ministry had asked the e-commerce website to remove drinks and beverages from the healthy drinks category from its platform. Now HULA has changed the name of the Health Food Drinks category to Function Nutritional Drinks and regarding this, Company Chief Financial Office Ritesh Tiwari says that it is a good way to name this category.

Strong growth forecast

Ritesh says that now companies are not able to enter the FND category, there is a lot of growth potential in it. Regarding HUL's strategy, Ritesh says that the focus of Hindustan Unilever is to increase the number of customers, increase usage, and provide more benefits to the consumers. According to Ritesh, there is a possibility of better growth in its FND premium range which includes products related to diabetes and women's health.

The category had to be changed due to Bournvita

Currently, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights has said that there is no definition of health drinks under the Food Safety and Standards Act, of 2006. In this month's Sharbaat, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India asked all e-commerce websites to include beverages containing dairy, cereal, or malt in the category of health drinks or energy drinks. FSSAI says that using wrong terms can mislead consumers and all such websites or advertisements have to be removed or corrected. Talking about the law, health drinks are not defined in the Food Law and energy drinks are only flavored water-based drinks. All this happened when the sugar level in Mondelez Indian Bournvita went very high a year ago.
