Ottawa. Indian-origin citizen Amandeep Singh was produced in court in the case of the murder of Khalistani separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada. According to local media reports, 22-year-old Amandeep Singh, a suspect in Nijjar's murder, was produced in Surrey court on Wednesday via video conferencing. After hearing arguments, the court adjourned the case to next week.

The court has ordered Amandeep Singh to appear again on May 21 along with three co-accused arrested in this high-profile case. Relations between India and Canada became strained after this case.

Nijjar was murdered outside a gurdwara in Surrey

Let us tell you that Hardeep Nijjar was murdered outside the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurudwara in Surrey city of British Columbia on June 18, 2023. Amandeep has been charged with murder and conspiracy to murder on May 11. Apart from this, similar charges have been leveled against three co-accused, Karan Brar, Kamalpreet Singh and 28-year-old Karanpreet Singh.

Amandeep appeared in Surrey court from Ontario jail

Amandip was produced in Surrey court from an Ontario jail, where he was already in the custody of Peel Regional Police. A judge set his next court date for May 21. On May 21, he will appear with the other three Akoris on charges of conspiring to murder Nijjar.

Meanwhile, before Amandeep's appearance, two dozen Khalistan supporters gathered outside the court room.
