Every year, the Chaturthi date of the Bhadrapada month (Ganesh Chaturthi 2024) is celebrated as the incarnation day of Lord Ganesha. On this special occasion, fasting is done to get the blessings of the Lord. It is believed that by not following the rules of food during the fast, the seeker is deprived of the auspicious results. What to eat during Ganesh Chaturthi fast?

• During the fast of Ganesh Chaturthi, only satvik food or fruits should be consumed. Sabudana kheer, sweets and buckwheat flour pakodas can be consumed during the fast.

• Apple, pomegranate, banana etc. can also be included in the fruit diet. Milk and curd can be included in the fasting thali.

• Apart from this, you can offer dry fruits to Lord Ganesha and then consume them. It is believed that by doing this, Ganpati Bappa becomes happy and fulfills all the wishes of the devotee.

This is how to observe Ganesh Chaturthi fast (Ganesh Chaturthi Vrat Vidhi)

• Clean the temple after taking bath on the day of Ganesh Chaturthi .

• Place the idol of Lord Ganesha on the stand.  
•  
• After this, install the Kalash and worship Ganpati Bappa as per the rituals.
•  
• Now offer kumkum, Akshat, sandalwood and flowers to Lord Ganesha.
•  
• Take a pledge to fast.  
•  
• Light a ghee lamp and perform aarti and recite Ganesh Chalisa and chant mantras of Lord Ganesha.
•  
• Do bhajan-kirtan (religious singing) during the day.
•  
• In the evening, perform the Aarti of the Lord and offer Motichoor Laddu and Modak.  
•  
• After this, eat fruits and break the fast after performing puja the next day.
