Bengaluru: Modi government minister HD Kumaraswamy is in trouble. A case has been registered against the Union minister on charges of extortion and criminal intimidation. Police said on Thursday that along with Kumaraswamy, former JD(S) MLC Ramesh Gowda has also been booked in the case by Amritahalli police station.
What is the allegation?
Complainant Vijay Tata alleged that he was the vice-president of the internet media division of the JDS but he distanced himself from the party to focus on his real estate business. Vijay alleged that on August 24, Gowda came home and called Kumaraswamy from his phone. The minister told him that the party needed Rs 50 crore for the Channapatna bypoll.
Kumaraswamy accused of threatening
Vijay also claimed that when he expressed his inability to pay the money, Kumaraswamy allegedly threatened him with dire consequences. Reacting to the allegations against him, Kumaraswamy said, "Is this a matter of discussion? Should I answer all this? Should I answer everyone's questions?"
